Etude for a silver wire & Uncomfortable Neckpiece (2004)

The first project for new students at the Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery Department of the Royal College of Art London is the Professors Project. Every autumn a piece of music is inspiration for the first work done at the college given by the music passionate head of department professor David Watkins.
György Ligéti's piano etude Autumn in Warsaw was the first year student's subject in October 2004. Etude for a Silver Wire is my interpretation of exercising a three-dimensional drawing and performing jewellery on the body. Uncomfortable Neckpiece stands for the character of Ligéti's piano music.
